International Bank of Commerce (IBC) is a state chartered bank owned by International Bancshares Corporation headquartered in Laredo, Texas (United States). It is one of the largest banks based in Texas, and is the 83rd largest U.S. bank by asset size. In addition, IBC is the largest minority-owned bank in the United States. The motto of the bank is "We Do More".
History
The International Bank of Commerce of Laredo, a subsidiary of International Bancshares Corporation, was founded in 1966 by AR Sanchez Sr., to meet the needs of the small businesses in the city. Today, it serves as the flagship bank of International Bancshares Corporation. Since its opening, IBC has grown from less than $1 million in assets to over $11.8 billion, making it one of the largest Texas-based banks. IBC currently serves 88 communities throughout Texas and Oklahoma with 215 branches and more than 375 ATMs.
