New York Trust Company was a large trust and wholesale-banking business that specialized in servicing large industrial accounts. It merged with the Chemical Corn Exchange Bank and eventually the merged entity became Chemical Bank.

History

In 1921 the United States Supreme Court heard arguments in New York Trust Co. v. Eisner. In 1959 it merged with the Chemical Corn Exchange Bank.

  • James G. Blaine was Vice President of the New York Trust Company and became President of the Fidelity Trust Company in 1926.
