Lake Trust Credit Union is a community-based credit union headquartered in Lansing, Michigan. Lake Trust has 21 branch locations and two administrative offices throughout Michigan. It is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by members of the credit union. The organization is governed and supervised by an 18 member board of directors. Lake Trust is the fourth largest credit union in Michigan based on asset size.
History
Detroit Edison Credit Union was chartered in 1944. In November 2007 Detroit Edison Credit Union completed the purchase and assumption of Huron River Area Credit Union. Lake Trust uses 1944 as their charter date
In 2004 State Employees Credit Union and Ottawa County School Employees Credit Union merged. The Credit Union retained the name State Employees Credit Union.
NuUnion Credit Union was the result of a name change in 2005 from the name State Employees Credit Union.
On April 1, 2010 NuUnion Credit Union and Detroit Edison Credit Union merged to form Lake Trust Credit Union.
On March 20, 2013 Lake Trust Credit Union announced that they will be building a new $30 million headquarters in Brighton, MI. The site will include a new 100,000 square foot building designed to more efficiently and effectively join their employees currently split between old corporate offices located in Lansing and Plymouth.

Anyone who lives, works, attends school, or worships within one of these counties is eligible: Allegan, Barry, Calhoun, Clare, Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Gladwin, Gratiot, Hillsdale, Ingham, Ionia, Isabella, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kent, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Mecosta, Midland, Missaukee, Monroe, Montcalm, Muskegon, Oakland, Osceola, Ottawa, Roscommon, Saginaw, Shiawassee, St. Clair, VanBuren, Washtenaw, or Wayne.
